‘Between Two Worlds’ is my first collection. Conceived during Melbourne’s lockdown, limitation was the starting point for my work.

Initially I had wanted to go back to New Zealand, the place where I grew up, to find inspiration but due to restrictions that wasn’t possible.

Without the opportunity to be surrounded by a physical landscape, or to make new memories, the idea and imagining of place started to become more important than the real place itself.

I’m interested in exploring what these inner landscapes we keep and return to look like. How memories can be forgotten, remembered and reimagined to take us to new places - in our inner world and outer one.

TURN THE KEYS OF THE
MEMORY MACHINE
AND START IT UP AGAIN.

GO FOR A SPIN RATTLING
AND REELING AROUND
THE BENDS.

WHERE WHAT YOU REMEMBER
AND WHAT YOU FORGET FRAYS
INTO HALF-FICTIONS.

MEMORY ONLY KNOWS
HOW TO BE A MUSICIAN.

DRIVE OUT THROUGH
THE THICKETS AND
LISTEN FOR THE ECHOES.

THERE'S A NEW SOUND
RINGING OUT BETWEEN
EVERYTHING YOU'VE KNOWN.

A BLUE-BOLT VISION.
RESTLESS, SHIMMERING
TRANSMISSION.

MEMORY ONLY KNOWS
HOW TO BE A MUSICIAN.
